Analyzing the Resistance Factors in the Arabic Elegies of Martyr Soleimani

Abstract

Elegy is a lyrical poem written for a lost loved one; Elegies written about martyrs and fighters for the right path are of double value because the role of fighters in resistance and repelling enemy aggression is very important for countries involved in these issues. The present article analyzes the themes of resistance in the Arabic elegies of Martyr Soleimani in a descriptive and analytical way. After the martyrdom of Sardar Soleimani, many Arabic elegies were written by poets of different countries in his mourning and commemoration. The findings of the research indicate that the Arabic poems written in the mourning and glorification of Sardar Soleimani are full of elements of resistance and mixed with passion and epic. Among the most important of these components, we can mention the love for the heroes of stability, the high status of martyrdom, patriotism, hope for the future, contempt for enemies, and honor and dignity. The poets considered martyr Soleimani as a model of national and religious heroes and praised his high human characteristics and honored his irreplaceable role in the success of the axis of resistance in Iraq and Syria.
